Brian T
Brian is an experienced educator with a diverse and impressive background. He holds a BS in General Biology from UC San Diego, an MA in Biomedical Sciences from Boston University, an MD from Loyola University Chicago, and most recently, a second BS in Biomedical Engineering from CSU Long Beach. With this multidisciplinary expertise, he is passionate about offering his knowledge, services, and experiences to help students succeed.
Brian's teaching style focuses on two main objectives: not only helping students achieve excellent grades and test scores, but also ensuring they understand the “bigger picture” and the real-world relevance of what they’re learning. His background in multiple scientific fields allows him to connect even the most basic concepts, such as an elementary chemical reaction in Chemistry, to broader fields like Biology, Physics, Medicine, and Engineering. Former students have praised his ability to explain complex material clearly, a skill he attributes to overcoming his own learning challenges and breaking down complicated subjects into simple, digestible concepts.
In addition to teaching core subjects, Brian is dedicated to inspiring students to discover their passions and explore potential career paths. His professional experiences span a variety of fields, including healthcare, sales, scientific research, and teaching. He is also well-versed in the medical school application process and careers in various engineering disciplines. Beyond academics, Brian is self-taught in DJing/music production, robotics/electronics, and filmography. His diverse skill set and experiences make him an ideal academic tutor for students looking for guidance and inspiration.
