Claire S
Claire graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Labor Studies and minors in Spanish and Food Studies. Her original research, on the experience of freelance journalists working in an age of digital news, was showcased in UCLA’s Undergraduate Research Week. Along with her love for writing and research, Claire is passionate about languages. Having spent her childhood between Paris and Los Angeles, she is fluent in French as well as Spanish. She has translated testimonies, news articles, research papers, and policy briefs for UCLA and Sciences Po, Paris, a prestigious French university. Her translation has helped advance research on French resistance activities during the Holocaust as well as historical pesticide regulations in the E.U. Claire has also worked with Knowing Neurons, a UCLA organization committed to writing short-form neuroscience articles accessible to the public, including monolingual Spanish speakers. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, biking, kayaking, and playing with her fluffy goldendoodle Beau.
