Joss S
Joss is a double-graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition, with Distinction and Phi Beta Kappa, as well as the Robert M. Golden Creative Arts Thesis Award and Art in M.A Music, Science, and Technology. He went on to receive a Masters of Music in Music Theory and Composition from New York University. While at NYU he tutored his peers in Music Theory and was a composition instructor for undergraduates. In addition to working with young adults, Joss has two years of tutoring experience in STEM, Humanities, French, Chinese, and Mandarin with elementary to high school-aged learners. His teaching philosophy is centered on thoughtful goal-setting and skill-building, and he has a distinctive knack for clarifying complex concepts. His goal is to instill knowledge as well as impart a passion for the material and an excitement for learning that fuels and benefits them for a lifetime.
