Katherine Hobbs is a passionate historian and literary scholar with a Ph.D. in English from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in History and English along with a minor in Music from the University of Missouri-Columbia. With expertise in 19th-century history, writing, and literature, Katherine loves bringing these subjects to life for students of all backgrounds.

Her academic work has been featured in prestigious publications such as English Literary History, Women’s Writing, and the Smithsonian. As a consulting historian, Katherine has collaborated with notable institutions, including the Thomas Edison National Historical Park, where her innovative research earned her the National Council on Public History's 2024 Excellence in Consulting Award.

In addition to her research, Katherine has extensive teaching experience. She has been tutoring high school and college students for seven years. At UC Berkeley, she designed and taught undergraduate courses in English and Humanities, working with students from diverse backgrounds to develop their skills in writing and critical analysis.

In her free time, Katherine enjoys playing the violin and the mountain dulcimer.
